Perrigo is a global business focussed on providing "Quality, Affordable Self-Care Products™".

Perrigo started life in 1887, when Luther Perrigo, the proprietor of a general store and apple-drying business, had the idea to package and distribute patented medicines and household items for country stores. Located in Allegan, Michigan, the L. Perrigo Company enjoyed steady growth and in the mid-1930s, the company signed its first, large private-label customer and began manufacturing. Perrigo continued its U.S. growth before establishing a global footprint with acquisitions in Mexico, the UK, Israel and India. This growth through acquisition continues today and there have been several key dates that have led to the creation of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

UK & Ireland History:

• In 2001 Perrigo's presence in the UK was established with the acquisition of Wrafton Laboratories Limited based in Braunton.
• In 2008 Perrigo UK's consumer healthcare production was enhanced, through the acquisition of Galpharm Healthcare Ltd, a leader in over-the-counter store brand pharmaceutical products sold by supermarkets, drug stores and pharmacies.
• In 2013 Perrigo expanded its portfolio to include pharmaceutical company Rosemont Pharmaceuticals Ltd, based in Leeds, who are focused on the manufacturing and marketing of oral liquid formulations. Later in 2013, Perrigo created a head office in Dublin to help grow the business outside North America.
• In 2015, Perrigo acquired Omega Pharma NV, a Belgian branded consumer healthcare company with a significant presence in the UK & Ireland. This acquisition combined Perrigo's supply chain and operational excellence with Omega's OTC branding and regulatory expertise. This now placed Perrigo as a top 5 global OTC company and advanced the company strategy to expand internationally.

Today Perrigo is a leading global healthcare supplier that develops, manufactures and distributes over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription (Rx) pharmaceuticals, nutritional products, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), with operations in more than 35 countries. It is the world's largest manufacturer of OTC pharmaceutical products for the store brand market and an industry leader in pharmaceutical technologies.
